Section 4. Nominations No change in first sentence. Second sentence: Members may also nominate other candidates from the floor at this meeting.

Section 6. Term of Office. The term of office shall begin in January of the following year and shall continue until the end of that year or until a successor is named by the Executive Committee.

NPU-N: Latest Version of Proposed Bylaws: NPU-N Bylaws 2013_v4

The only changes from the previous version are formatting in one section, addition of a title, and correction of a spelling error.
Summary of Changes:
· Removed Ponce Corridor East as a member

· Changed the quorum number to 5 as a result of removing a member (was 6)

· Created policies for when a vote on an application may be made in between regularly-scheduled meetings

· Specified that a Board member may represent only one organization at a particular meeting

· Provided a specific list of voting options for items listed on agenda as “Matters For Decision”

According to a misty legend handed down from ancient times, it was once traditional in small towns and neighborhoods for families to get together for no other reason than to have fun. Lake Claire Neighbors and the Lake Claire Community Land Trust are reviving this lost tradition, and you’re invited! So put on your khakis or your tie-dyes, round up the kids and come on over to the Land Trust on Saturday, May 11, for an old-fashioned family picnic.

It starts at 3:00 pm, after Saturday morning sports activities, and goes to 6:00. For $2.00 a plate, you’ll be served a meat or veggie hot dog with all the fixin’s, coleslaw, chips, cookies, and a drink. Each plate comes with a raffle ticket that might win you a door prize. Bring your own washable dishes and utensils and get an extra ticket!

Scheduled activities include a scavenger hunt for the kids and guided tours of the Land Trust. Best of all, firemen from our Fire Station 12 will park their truck in the Arizona Ave. cul-de-sac for kids to explore, starting at 3:00 (provided they don’t get called to a fire!)

No amplified entertainment is planned, but Lake Claire’s internationally famed musical virtuoso Ruby the Clown will be on hand (provided he doesn’t get called to a fire), along with the traditional jugglers and face painters. And of course, Big Lou the Emu will be welcoming visitors down by the pond. (As always, please don’t let your dog bark at him.)

Lake Claire Neighbors, the Land Trust, and Clifton Sanctuary will each set up an information table so neighbors can learn more about their neighborhood. Parking at Clifton Sanctuary (corner of Connecticut and McLendon) is recommended.

An RSVP is not required, but if you plan to come, please email the organizers at safety@lakeclaire.org so they can estimate how much food to buy. Fundraiser for Natalyn Archibong, Sat., Mar./23 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Christiane French’s home, 545 Harold Ave. Natalyn does a bunch to support our neighborhood, be sure to show her some support back!

Lake Claire Banner Contest (deadline 5/31)
Calling Lake Claire Artists: Lake Claire needs a new logo design for our neighborhood banner. Put your creativity to work for the neighborhood. If you’re an artist and are interested in donating a design to the neighborhood, please let us know, or start thinking about it.  For more information, write to fun@lakeclaire.org.

Candler Park is working on a Master Plan :  From CP: “You are all our neighbors and we would love it if your voices became a part of this strategic process. Our very first community meeting is Wednesday March 27 at the Frazer Center.All of the public meetings are listed on our project website here: http://www.candlerparkmasterplan.com/.”

The Mary Lin Education Foundation is holding its 5th annual Rocket Run 5K & 1 mile BLAST on Sunday, April 28, at 9 a.m. in partnership with the Inman Park Festival. Starting This Week: Atlanta BeltLine Implementation Plan Next Steps Study Groups!

It’s time for the 2nd round of the Implementation Plan public meetings! The Atlanta BeltLine implementation plan will help to chart the course for implementation for the remainder of the project. Attend the next round of meetings to hear how your input influenced the plan,  and learn more about the proposed draft list of next projects to be implemented.
